Hoda Kotb’s Next Profession Moves After Today Exit: Latest Book and More

Hoda Kotb is prepared to begin a brand new chapter after saying goodbye to NBC’s Today.

The TV personality announced in September 2024 that she was departing the morning show after nearly 30 years working for the network. “I just turned 60, and it was such a monumental moment for me once I turned 60 years old because I began serious about that decade, like, what does that decade mean? What does it hold? What’s it gonna have for me?” she tearfully announced on-air. “And I noticed that it was time for me to show the page at 60 and to try something latest.”

On the time, Kotb also noted that her role as a mother influenced her decision. “I had my kiddos late in life, and I used to be considering they deserve an even bigger piece of my time, the pie that I even have,” she explained. “I feel like we only have a finite period of time. And so, with all that being said, that is the toughest thing on the planet.” (Kotb shares her daughters, Haley and Hope, with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman.)

Kotb wrapped up her Today run with a special “Hoda-bration” episode on January 10. Craig Melvin took over her role as Savannah Guthrie’s coanchor, while Jenna Bush Hager has continued to host the fourth hour, Today With Jenna & Friends, with a rotating lineup of celebrity guest hosts.

While announcing her exit, Kotb noted that she can be staying within the “NBC family” following her Today departure, but didn’t elaborate on the extent of her future with the network. She later told Page Six that she shall be a special correspondent. “I believe it’ll be type of a Snoop-ish role,” she explained, referencing the rapper’s stint on the 2024 Olympics.

“I need to be a supporting character on a team that’s already in place in order that I’ll are available in and just have a task there. After which I’m going to do my ‘Making Space’ podcast, which I enjoy and love a lot,” Kotb said. “And for the Today show, I believe we talked about doing something every 4 to 6 weeks, just a little bit something.”

Variety previously reported that Kotb would proceed to make occasional appearances on Today and other NBC programs, along with hosting her “Making Space” podcast.

During an October 2024 episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, Kotb revealed that she plans to dive into the world of wellness after bidding Today farewell.

“I don’t know in case you’ve ever had a craving, a calling, a desire, and you possibly can’t quit it, even in case you try, because working at NBC is safer. … But sometimes, you understand there’s something else that you need to try in your life,” she explained. “And I even have been so turned on by the wellness space because I noticed what was happening to me. I attempted various things and I noticed my body was calmer. I used to be getting sick less. I used to be feeling higher. I used to be a greater parent, a greater friend, a greater sister, a greater daughter. And I assumed, all these tiny things I used to be doing day after day were helping to vary me inside.”

Kotb continued: “What I need to do is I need to live in wellness. I need to work in that space. I need to begin things. I’ve got things which might be percolating inside that I’m gonna, hopefully, have fully formed soon.”

Kotb shared specific details about her next profession steps during a January 6 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “I’m starting a wellness app and company that can involve retreats and a podcast and every kind of things that we will get together, do things that I really like,” she revealed. “It’s not like going to Mexico along with your girls, which is fun, but that is something that if you leave, you’ll go like, ‘Oh my gosh, I feel transformed. I feel different.’”

While the business enterprise remains to be “within the constructing process,” Kotb said the app is predicted to launch within the spring.

Along with pursuing wellness, Kotb has constantly gushed about looking forward to more time along with her kids after leaving Today. Since moving outside of Latest York City in early 2024, Kotb has gushed about experiencing suburban milestones resembling walking her kids to high school, taking them trick-or-treating and hosting holidays in her latest home.

“I’m so excited because to have stockings hung in a spot that you understand shall be the place where they’re gonna be hanging for years — we just, for the primary time, decided where the tree was gonna go, and we all know from today on, that is where it’s gonna go — all these cool things,” she said on a December 2024 episode of Hoda & Jenna ahead of celebrating Christmas along with her girls, her mom, Sameha, her sister, Hala, and Schiffman. “We decked our house out, like, all those sorts of neat things.”

Having penned several self-help and youngsters’s books over time, Kotb revealed that her first official post-Today project was a brand new book titled Jump and Find Joy. “Everybody of their life, at one point, stands on the sting of something and says, ‘Should I jump? Should I try? Should I am going for it?’” she explained in a video package that aired on the March 10 episode of Today. “And I felt that way concerning the Today show, and I used to be terrified to even take into consideration jumping.”

After getting some encouraging advice from her pal Maria Shriver, Kotb said she decided to put in writing about each her and other women’s experiences “jumping” from one chapter of life to the subsequent. “Viola Davis; This woman went from on her knees to this incredible spot, and it was a picture that caused her to leap,” she shared. “Sarah Jakes, who’s also within the book, T.D. Kotb concluded the book announcement by stating, “Here’s my thing, you get one life. That’s all. That’s it. It’s ready for the taking. It only takes a jump.”
