MANILA, Philippines — Francis Lopez and CJ Cansino went back to Subic on Friday to personally apologize to the carnival worker after they were seen flattening his mask within the “horror train.”
Cansino uploaded the trip of the Fighting Maroons last December 16 on his YouTube vlog, where Lopez was seen poking fun on the masked staff.
Two weeks after the clip went viral to the dismay of several social media users, the 2 players returned to Subic and reached out to the 21-year-old carnival employee, who requested to stay unnamed.
“There is no such thing as a excuse for what we did. We attempt to make something right out of this. It is a life lesson for me,” said Lopez in a press release by UP’s Office for Athletics and Sports Development.
UP OASD said the carnival staff accepted the apology of Lopez and Cansino and guaranteed them that there have been “no hard feelings.”
Lopez also gifted the worker with a signed jersey and UP Fighting Maroons team shirt.
