The Eagles are stepping up their interest in former Frankfurt boss Olivier Glasner to be ready for Hodgson’s departure.
Chairman Steve Parish ideally wanted Hodgson to stay in charge until his contact expires in the summertime but his hand has been forced after a dismal run of three wins in 19 games.
Austrian Glasner has managed 4 different teams over a ten-year period, last being in charge German side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Glasner guided Frankfurt to Europa League glory in his first season in charge where they beat Rangers on penalties in the ultimate.
The 49-year-old has also been accountable for Wolfsburg and Austrian sides LASK and SV Ried.
Former England manager Hodgson looks set to depart Selhurst Park as a manager for a second time.
Hodgson was reappointed in March 2023 after Patrick Vieira was dismissed following a poor run of results.
After successfully guiding the Eagles to safety Hodgson signed a one-year deal.
Nonetheless, he isn’t expected to see out that contract with Palace in peril of sleepwalking into the relegation zone.
