Colby Covington finally responds to Ian Machado Garry’s 298 callout, claims the Irishman now has his full attention; albeit biting off greater than he can chew.

‘The Future’ and ‘Chaos’ have been going backwards and forwards on social media for several years at this point, with the brash Irishman taking the chance to call out Covington after his most up-to-date victory at UFC 298 in February.

Responding on social media, Covington has claimed that Garry now had his full attention moving forward, warning the rising contender that he could be making too large of a jump up in competition should they face one another later this yr.

Colby Covington responds to Ian Machado Garry’s callout

Following his split decision victory over Geoff Neal at UFC 298, Ian Machado Garry selected to not mince his words as he called out former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington in his post-fight interview.

“There’s one guy I need next, and I’ve been saying his name all week… his name is Colby Covington. That guy is on a three-fight skid against world champions, and I need to retire you from the UFC…Anywhere. Anytime.”

It may need taken several weeks, but Covington has finally responded and in typical ‘Chaos’ fashion, unleashed an expletive-laced rant on social media from the deck of a yacht:

“We’re out here sailing on seven figures and salty nerd tears. Normally, if you’re out here, it’s all about fishing and everybody knows if you’re going fishing, it’s vital to have the correct bait. So let me teach you all a lesson about the way you bait someone… Ian Garry, you translucent c***, you wanted my attention, now you bought it.”

Covington claimed that the one reason why Garry wants a shot at ‘Chaos’ is because he’s the most important star within the division, adding that the Irishman lost his probability to go toe-to-toe on the mic after pulling out of his fight with Vicente Luque back in late 2023.

“You had your probability in December to step on the identical stage as me and have a microphone and say whatever you wish to say to me…But you were scared, fearful of what I used to be going to say to you, and also you got the sniffles, and also you cried your way out!”

“When you were fearful of that Ian, if you happen to’re fearful of words, what do you think that it’s going to be like if you step within the steel cage with Chaos?”

Covington, who’s 2-3 in his last five fights, is currently ranked at #4 within the UFC welterweight division, several places above Ian Machado Garry who presently occupies the #7 spot.

“Now you would like Donald Trump’s favorite fighter? That’s an enormous step up in competition junior, you’re biting off greater than you may chew.”

Covington also went on to taunt Garry further by issuing three ‘stipulations’ he must meet, including comments aimed toward his personal life.

Nevertheless, not one of the three ‘stipulations’ included anything legitimately contractual and as an alternative aimed to bait Garry right into a response – which Covington says he now has 24 hours to share.
