DUCKSIDE, a persistent world survival game with PVP, PVE, crafting, and base-building elements that is largely DayZ or Rust but with hat-wearing geese that wield weapons, is currently in development, publisher tinyBuild and developer tinyBuildGAMES have announced. It’s unclear when the sport will take flight, but sign-ups for the beta are actually survive Steam.
Announcement trailer:
Game features:
- “Harvest resources, craft weapons and tools, and construct shelters to guard your loot and your life.”
- “…sophisticated flight mechanics allowing you to glide, hover, speed up and dive, even whilst shooting and fighting.”
- “…construct nests for safety, storage, survival, and strategic advantage, but be warned: nothing is really protected. Every structure will be destroyed, every stash of loot raided, and each migration could end in death.”
- “Play alone or create a flock with other geese to construct, explore, fight, and survive together.”
- “…humans stationed across the island that don’t appear to think it’s as fun being shot at by geese because it is shooting geese, you’ll have to take care of them too.”
tinyBuild on its latest game:
Over 10 million geese get killed per 12 months by hunters, a statistic that might be much lower if geese were combat trained. Enter DUCKSIDE, a persistent world survival game like DayZ or Rust… but you’re a duck, and so is everybody else.
