Lionel Messi says Inter Miami might be “my last club.”

The 36-year-old World Cup champion isn’t occupied with joining an Argentine club to put in writing the last chapter of playing profession.

Messi is preparing along with his national team to compete within the Copa América in the US. Argentina is the defending champion.

The previous Barcelona star has nothing left to prove in the sport and filled the one significant unchecked box on his resume by leading Argentina to the World Cup title in Qatar in 2022.

He has won a record eight Ballon d’Or awards and left European football last yr to hitch the MLS club.

Messi’s contract with Inter Miami is ready to run out at the top of the 2025 season.

“It was a difficult step to go away Europe to come back here,” he said. “Having grow to be a world champion helped quite a bit, and in addition to see things in a different way. But I don’t give it some thought. I attempt to enjoy. That’s why I enjoy every part rather more, because I’m aware that there’s less and fewer to go and I even have a very good time.”

Many Argentine fans hoped Messi would close his profession with Newell’s Old Boys, the club where he began his training as a baby in his native city of Rosario.

The star said he’s attempting to benefit from the final stretch of his profession to the fullest.

“I even have a very good time on the club, I’m lucky enough to have teammates and friends (Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, all former Barcelona players) by my side,” he said. “I had a very good time within the national team, where I even have teammates and friends too.

“I benefit from the little details that I do know that after I don’t play anymore, I’m going to miss,” he added. “My whole life I did this. I really like playing ball and I enjoy training, day-to-day life and match days. And yes, there’s all the time the fear that every part will end.”
