Latest CMLL Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale has shared her first thoughts after winning the vacant title at CMLL FantasticaMania USA.
Nightingale won a trios match to win the title which had been vacated after previous champion Stephanie Vaquer left CMLL to hitch WWE.
In her post-match comments, Nightingale referenced Vaquer and reflected on her previous match wrestling for CMLL. She said,
“Last time I wrestled in CMLL, was actually also my first weekend in CMLL, but you wanna know what happened after I showed up? I freakin’ won. I beat current CMLL women’s champ at that time, Stephanie Vaquer. Stephanie will not be here, championship is vacant. Who’s gonna step up? Nobody else aside from Willow Nightingale. My spirit was broken you recognize? AEW, my friend turned on me, I just lost my last match, I actually needed to win, and today I didn’t just win, I walked out a world champion.”
