A Recent Hunt: Showdown has been discovered on the ESRB website potentially meaning that Crytek could have a forthcoming surprise announcement. Hunt: Showdown is a multiplayer first-person shooter from Crytek, the creators of Crysis, which launched for PC and consoles in 2019 after being as a spiritual successor to Darksiders. It quickly captivated players with its fresh tackle the genre and Crytek has supported the sport with continuously added content and updates. Now it seems that one other game may very well be in development.
Titled Hunt: Showdown 1896, the sport description says the sport is ready within the Victorian era where players can get downright gruesome in hunting monsters, and other players. The sport is listed as being made for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.

“It is a first-person monster hunting game set in a fantastical version of the Victorian era. Players use bladed bats, clubs, brass knuckles, and pistols to kill zombie-like creatures and human rivals. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, gunfire, and blood-splatter effects. Some weapons allow players to cave in zombies’ heads or to chop off their limbs. One kind of zombie explodes into blood and viscera when killed; one other type is depicted wearing human skin as a cape.”

Players of the present game have something to look ahead to whilst news about the potential for a brand new Hunt: Showdown is making rounds. Crytek has been hard at work getting the following event ready which also marks its formal transition to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S while ending support on older consoles. Content and purchases from the older consoles shall be transferrable to the brand new ones.

“The brand new era of Hunt includes an exciting launch to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
As we already announced in Autumn 2023, this includes the termination of the net features and the deprecation of Hunt: Showdown on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In consequence, Hunt: Showdown shall be removed and never playable on these platforms from fifteenth August.
If you happen to currently play on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll robotically receive a free upgrade to the brand new game on the following generation counterpart in your current platform, including your entire past purchases and progress.
We understand that this may be disappointing to some players that haven’t yet upgraded to the following generation of consoles, but rest assured your Hunt legacy shall be ready and waiting as soon as you select to make the switch to PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X|S.
