Jimmy Jacobs says Bobby Heenan once told him he’d never make it within the skilled wrestling business.

While appearing on RJ City’s Hey! (EW) YouTube series, Jacobs, who was once managed by Bobby Heenan on the independent circuit, said the next:

“I asked him for advice after he saw me perform. He says, ‘Yeah. Get a job, get some weed, go have some fun since you’ll never have a future on this business.’”

Former WWE Director of VOD and Supervising Producer John Carlan recently spoke with Conrad Thompson on the “Insiders” podcast to debate what it was like working with Kevin Dunn and more.

You possibly can take a look at some highlights from the podcast below:

On his experience working with Kevin Dunn: “It was hard. It was never easy. He actually had a high bar. At times, I didn’t prefer it, to be honest. Our relationship was good for probably the most part. We had a few ups and downs. We also had times where we rejoiced after the show where we might hand around in a bunch and he’d be a part of that. It was hard. There was quite a lot of things there…it’s difficult because there have been things that were handled in a different way than I’d have handled them personally. There have been actually some policies that not all of us agreed with. He was the boss. It was what it was. There are people who find themselves still there that grew up from Kevin that will have among the same qualities that I’ll not necessarily agree with, but we rolled with it day-to-day. It wasn’t like I worked lots with him directly. I had a bit of tenure on the road. That was my closest interaction in an expert environment. He was around if there have been shoots that were very vital. There have been other times where we rejoiced and we had old production meetings.”

On having fun with Dunn: “Each time we got here back from the road, KD would run the production meeting with all of the producers. He would give a recap of the week and we’d undergo various things and other people would have questions. KD is a giant Raiders fan. I’m a giant Patriots fan. We’re leading as much as the Tuck Rule game in 2001. Stephanie McMahon used to go the production meetings. We got close because we grew up Patriots fans and went to high school down the road from one another in Boston. I told Steph before the meeting, ‘Underneath my work clothes, I even have my Tom Brady jersey on. At the top, he’s going to ask if anyone has questions. I’m going to rise up and say ‘We’ll see you this weekend,’ and I’m going to tear my work shirt off and spin around. Will you have got my back?’ She said, ‘I even have your back.’ We went through the meeting. I used to be dying inside considering, ‘Am I actually going to do that?’ I did it. Everybody popped and laughed. He checked out me and goes, ‘I’ll let you know immediately, in the event that they win this game, your ass is fired.’ It never happened, it was all in fun. It was great. That was a fun interaction with him. He’s actually controversial, no doubt. Loads of that outside stuff is inaccurate, but lots is accurate.”
