Jake Paul has attempted to butter up UFC CEO Dana White as he continues to pursue a boxing fight against current UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira.
With Jake Paul continuing his approach to fighting former MMA fighters within the boxing ring, following his recent win over former UFC fighter turned Bare Knuckle Boxer, Mike Perry, the web sensation called out the UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira.
Following the callout, the MMA fanbase clowned ‘The Problem Child’ online for calling out a fighter that he likely knows he won’t have the opportunity to fight.
Jake Paul explains his callout of Alex Pereira and continues his pursuit
The explanation the 27-year-old likely won’t ever get to fight ‘Poatan’, is since the UFC doesn’t allow their fighters to fight in other promotions while they’re under contract, and Conor McGregor will likely remain the anomaly.
One among the foremost reasons former heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, left the promotion was due to UFC’s refusal to permit him to take a fight in boxing.
Not only that but UFC CEO Dana White and Jake Paul don’t have a superb relationship, and the 2 have historically spoken bad about one another online, making it extremely unlikely that they’ll ever do business together.
Despite that, Paul has attempted to clarify why he called out the Brazilian champion, questioning why the fight can’t occur.
“But (why is it impossible?). If we’re gonna sell 2 million pay-per-views, it is a business at the top of the day, the explanation why Dana let McGregor (fight Floyd Mayweather is due to business),” Paul explained on the Full Send Podcast.
“If Pereira is selling 500k PPV buys and this has a likelihood to do 2-3 million, that’s mainly six fights so, I see each side of it but I’m down and at the top of the day, I’m gonna call this guy out because after I beat him they will’t say weight, they will’t say height, they will’t say old, they will’t say any of these items and so I need the hardest competition on the earth,” he continued.
‘The Problem Child’ went on to state that he remains to be going to proceed to pursue fights with skilled boxers as he still desires to win an expert title.
Jake Paul surprisingly compliments Dana White in an try to butter him up
In addition to always feuding with White, Paul has always called out ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor for a boxing fight, again, knowing that it might probably likely never occur.
“He’ll never fight me, he knows I might win… Losing to Jake Paul (would tarnish his profession), that’s why Nate Diaz won’t do MMA against me, 100%,” Paul said.
White is undoubtedly top-of-the-line promoters within the combat sports world, although there are parts of the fanbase that don’t agree with every part the promotion does.
Due to their rocky relationship online, the 27-year-old skilled boxer has attempted to butter White up with a rare compliment, possibly within the hopes that it’ll make him reconsider his stance on allowing his fighters to fight outside of the UFC.
“I even have lots of respect for (Dana White). His RNC speech was amazing, we agree on so many things and I feel he has an incredible side of him and I’m sure we’d be friends perhaps on this life, perhaps in a distinct life, I just want fighters to receives a commission more, that’s it,” the 27-year-old admitted.
Paul remains to be scheduled to controversially tackle former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, with the bout set to happen from the AT&T stadium in Texas on November 15.
