‘The Late Show,’ ‘The Day by day Show’ Prepare for Democratic Convention

CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and Comedy Central’s “The Day by day Show” are set to travel to Chicago for per week of shows throughout the Democratic National Convention next week. On the docket: A Kamala Harris biofilm created by “The Day by day Show” team and a guest list on “The Late Show” that features Hillary Rodham Clinton and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The 2 shows’ DNC plans dwarf what they ultimately were capable of do last month throughout the Republican National Convention. Specifically, “The Day by day Show” had planned to hail that week from Milwaukee, but then the assassination attempt on Donald Trump modified those plans. As a substitute, “The Day by day Show” canceled its Monday telecast that week, and kept to its usual Recent York City homebase the remaining of the week.

This day out, “The Day by day Show’s” “Indecision 2024” coverage will include 4 nights on the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture within the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago.

The Harris biofilm is the most recent in a well-liked series of shorts on key leaders; the biofilms even landed “The Day by day Show” an Emmy nomination this 12 months for “The Dailyshowography Of Vivek Ramaswamy: Enter The RamaVerse,” competing within the outstanding picture editing for variety programming (segment) category.

Also next week, “The Day by day Show” will feature correspondent Jordan Klepper touring Chicago with Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker. And the show guarantees several more pieces that they’re shooting across the course of the week on the ground of the DNC with “The Day by day Show” news team.

As for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” plans are to broadcast every night live at 11:35 p.m. ET (delayed on the west coast) from Monday, Aug. 19 through Thursday, Aug. 22, from the Auditorium Theatre in downtown Chicago, right off of Grant Park.

Guests are subject to vary, but for now, the Monday, Aug. 19 episode is about to feature former Sec. of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus; Tuesday, Aug. 20 will include guests Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries; and Wednesday, Aug. 21 will include Sec. of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, with a performance by Chicago’s own Probability the Rapper. No guests have yet been announced for the Thursday, Aug. 22 episode.
