Lightweight prospect Abdullah Mason (15-0, 13 KOs) said that he thinks he’ll be fighting for a world title in 2025 following his second-round knockout of Mike Ohan Jr. (19-3, 9 KOs) on Saturday night on the Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.
Tonight, Mason arguably stole the show again, pulling down Ohan twice within the fight to get a second-round knockout on the preliminary portion of the cardboard. The fight was stopped after Mason knocked Ohan down with a right hook in round two. The referee’s time of the stoppage was on the:40 mark.
Mason knocked Ohan down in the primary with a left uppercut that bowled him over. Within the second, Marson finished the job with a right hook that knocked him down for a second time to prompt the stoppage.
Mason turns 21 in 2025 and feels he’ll be able to challenge for a world title at 135. He doesn’t say which of the champions he’ll be targeting for that title shot. Fans would need to see Mason challenge certainly one of these three: Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson or Vasily Lomachenko.
