Anderson Silva’s son Gabriel was brutally stopped in his effort at Misfits Boxing gold last night, and has quite the excuse for his loss.

The 27-year-old boxer had previously knocked out play-by-play commentator Ben Davis and won a call against Tik Tok star OJ Rose within the celebrity boxing promotion. But he stepped up in level to face Bellator veteran Anthony Taylor, and saw two counts within the third before the fight was waved off.

After an unsightly build-up that saw Silva mock Taylor over rumours regarding his sexuality, the affair was certainly one of the more heated on last night’s card. And the American got here out on top with certainly one of his most impressive showings thus far.

Gabriel Silva viciously knocked out by Anthony Taylor in Misfits title fight

Within the co-main event of last night’s Misfits Boxing pay-per-view, light-heavyweight champion Anthony Taylor welcomed Gabriel Silva to the 3Arena in Dublin. Having fought within the venue twice in his MMA days for BAMMA and Bellator, he was no stranger to the raucous Irish crowd.

The American had just stopped Karate Combat standout Samuel Ericsson three weeks earlier, and commenced at a suffocating pace. He’s infamous for his ‘hugging’ style that’s heavy on clinch work, but separated at the best times and managed to land big overhands on the taller and longer Silva.

After an in depth second round that arguably went Silva’s way, things gave the impression to be turning within the third. But Taylor managed to seek out a giant shot that wobbled the Brazilian, which resulted in a standing eight count midway through the round.

Then after a flurry of shots to the body, a thunderous pull counter dropped his rival. Silva managed to rise up to his feet, but a pair more punches landed without response and the bout was rightfully called off.

Refereeing controversy plagues Misfits Boxing undercard

The undercard for last night’s show featured plenty of big names, including HSTikkyTokky who brawled in the gang following his victory over George Fensom. But one standout moment got here when hometown hero Ben Williams faced Warren Spencer earlier within the night.

Spencer was expected to struggle against the experienced boxer and Tik Tok sensation Williams, but impressed along with his pace early on. Nonetheless, midway through the second in a bizarre moment the referee stopped the fight, despite the pair seemingly being in an exchange of punches.

Promoter Mams Taylor even made his feelings clear in a fired-up post-fight speech, insisting that there could be a rematch. He joked that after they’d trialled a brand new judging system on the night, they would wish to open up a refereeing school, with many fans praising his outburst.

Gabriel Silva blames referee for his stoppage defeat to Anthony Taylor

It seems that Gabriel Silva is now attempting to get in on the controversy surrounding last night’s officiating, seemingly blaming the referee for his defeat to Taylor. He paid a transient tribute to his opponent on social media, before claiming the official should enter a brand new line of labor.

“Fair play to AT played the sport accordingly,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, with replies from fans turned off. “But that referee should find a special profession path. But that’s was a great scrap, I’ll see you guys real soon!”

Fans within the quote tweets disagreed with the assessment, with one writing that Silva “Needs to be praising that ref he stopped it before u got laid flat out by a stripper.” Former world title challenger BJ Flores added: “My guy, take the L like a person. AT was the higher man tonight. No shame.”
