In 2017, Elton announced that he had undergone a “quick but successful” surgery for a prostate cancer scare. The cancer was detected early, and the surgery was successful, with no further treatment needed. He was back to performing soon after.

Thankfully, just a few days later, a source informed the DailyMail that the singer was recuperating at home and was in good health. The source stressed that the hospitalization was merely a precautionary measure.
“We are able to confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home within the south of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” a source told the outlet on the time. “Following check-ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”
