MyCarrier, a web-based shipping and transportation service for carriers and shippers, has acquired digital payments firm Curant to flush out an order-to-payment shipping system, MyCarrier announced this week.
“This acquisition accelerates our mission to digitize the industry for each the shipper and carrier,” Chris Scheid, MyCurrent president and chief operating officer, said in a LinkedIn post. “By replacing manual processes with automation, we’ll increase accuracy and supply a single pane of glass to each parties on payment status.”
MyCarrier and Curant didn’t disclose the terms of the deal.
Curant’s founder and CEO joins MyCarrier
Curant founder and CEO Joe Magee is joining MyCarrier as a part of the acquisition. “I’ll be collaborating with MyCarrier to enable a completely digital invoice, audit, and payment experience from quote to money,” he says in a recent post on Curant’s LinkedIn page. “The mixture of the 2 platforms will launch the primary purpose-built automated payment solution for LTL shippers and carriers.”
MyCarrier, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, adds that its SaaS platform integration with Los Angeles-based Curant provides shippers with a single platform for “comparing quotes from all of your carriers, dispatching with the clicking of a button, tracking its progress in real-time, analyzing data, auditing invoices, resolving variances, and eventually, making payments.”
“With Curant’s expertise in digital payments, MyCarrier’s platform will enable shippers to pay their carriers individually or collectively” MyCarrier says. “This feature completes the ultimate piece of the puzzle, automating the LTL shipping process from order-to-payment while providing substantial cost savings and financial visibility.”
MyCarrier’s MyInvoiceHub and Shipper Intelligence Dashboard
MyCarrier also offers MyInvoiceHub, a portal that lets shippers access their freight bills and review and manage any discrepancies. The corporate charges monthly fees starting at $50 for the invoice-management service.
For LTL (less-than-truckload) carriers, MyCarrier provides data analytics through its Shipper Intelligence Dashboard to “prioritize accounts, discover lane opportunities,” and access additional market information.
Founded in 2016 by Scheid and CEO Michael Bookout, MyCarrier has received $36.3 million in funding from investors including NewRoad Capital Partners, Greycroft and Lerer Hippeau, in line with Crunchbase.
