“I’ve been with them for a really very long time and have done the very best I can to represent who I’m and the UFC. It will be cool to go down in UFC history. It will be cool to have the option to do this, to be within the Hall of Fame. I feel that might be sick,” he added.

The 30-year-old, Buckley, is ranked eleventh within the 170lb division and is hopeful of taking Thompson’s rank contained in the top 10.

“I at all times have a look at the positive side of things, so I feel it’s pretty cool people need to fight me because they know with a purpose to make it to the highest, you’ve to beat Wonderboy, which to me is a very cool thing,” Thompson continued.
