The brand new iteration of “The Office” at Peacock is adding three recent solid members.
Melvin Gregg (“American Vandal,” “Snowfall”), Chelsea Frei (“Poker Face,” “The Cleansing Lady”) and Ramona Young (“Never Have I Ever,” “Santa Clarita Eating regimen”) will all star within the series alongside previously announced solid members Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore.
The brand new castings were first reported by the Palisadian-Post in Pacific Palisades, CA, because the actors were shadowing reporters on the publication in preparation for his or her roles.
As has been previously reported, the show is just not a reboot or spinoff of “The Office,” but reasonably a brand new mockumentary show with a brand new solid set in the identical universe. It’s rumored to be currently titled “The Paper” but no official title has been announced. The official logline states:
“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in the hunt for a brand new subject once they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher attempting to revive it with volunteer reporters.”
Greg Daniels, who developed the American version of “The Office” for television, is co-creating the brand new series with Michael Koman. Each function executive producers together with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who created the unique British version of the series, in addition to Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas. Universal Television is the studio.
Daniels opened a writers’ room in January 2024 to start working on the brand new iteration of the hit NBC mockumentary sitcom, which ran from 2005 to 2013. The American “Office” took place in Scranton, Penn., and followed the staff of paper company Dundler Mifflin. It starred Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, amongst others. The show has maintained its popularity long after leaving the airwaves and located recent life when it became available to stream.
