Keyshawn Davis went on a bitter rant on social media, reacting to the praise light welterweight prospect Emiliano Vargas was receiving for his impressive performance, knocking out Larry Fryers (13-7-1, 5 KOs) within the fifth round on Friday night on a Top Rank card on ESPN on the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

Keyshawn was so indignant that he was literally shaking with rage when he talked about Emiliano. What I would like to know is why Keyshawn doesn’t have the identical energy for Andy Cruz as he does for Emiliano. He lost to the Cuban Cruz 4 times within the amateurs and looked wild-eyed and insane after he lost to him within the finals of the 2020 Olympics.
ESPN commentators were glazing Emiliano Vargas (12-0, 10 KOs) nonstop, talking about how great he looked together with his victory over Fryers. Emiliano’s compliments from ESPN were way beyond anything Keyshawn had received in any of his fights.
That they had good reason: Emiliano looked like future star material, showing power, speed, and accuracy together with his win tonight. His entertainment value, coupled together with his Hollywood looks, makes him a can’t-miss superstar for Top Rank.
ESPN’s talking heads, Bernard Osuna, Tim Bradley, and Mark Kriegel, know talent after they see it. If Keyshawn had the talent Emiliano showed, ESPN can be glazing him, too, but he doesn’t.
He’s more of a WWE wrestler than a boxer. Top Rank has got to be occupied with an exit strategy with Keyshawn because he’s not going anywhere, and so they made the error of signing him.
“I’ll beat all of their [backsides] on the identical night, including the daddy,” said Keyshawn Davis on social media, reacting to Emiliano Vargas’ impressive win over Larry Fryers on Saturday night.
“Tell them to set it up. I’ll go from the daddy [Fernando Vargas] to the youngest brother [Emiliano] on the identical night. The Vargas brothers against the Davis brothers. I don’t care which brother I fight, and the daddy than get it too.
“Tell Top Rank to set it up. I ain’t even playing. I got eyes on y’all, and I heard you were talking [stuff] when y’all had your media workout. I used to be about to tug up on y’all. You’re lucky y’all left before I pulled up on y’all. I didn’t actually have a clue.
“Y’ll lucky. Y’all didn’t even know. Talking [stuff]. I had ears on, though. [A friend] called and said, ‘Keyshawn, the Vargas brothers are talking [stuff] about you. Tell them to set that up, but tell them they might be under my foremost though.
“They talking like they’re so popular. Y’all is an entire other culture. Y’all think my culture knows y’all, bro? What the hell is he talking about? Talking about I’m not an Olympian. Do y’all think my culture know y’all, bro? Don’t no one know y’all in my culture. What are you talking about? You’re crazy. There’s no comparison between the Davis brothers and the Vargas brothers,” said Keyshawn.
