NHL Network: Elliotte Friedman thinks the Recent York Rangers are going to should bend with reference to an Igor Shesterkin contract extension. He has a case to be their highest-paid player, but by how much?

Hradek: “Yeah, you understand, we had, I had my guy, Kevin Weekes here was talking about, like, you understand, he turned down a deal. I do know you’ve been attempting to track this down as well. I mean, it’s an interesting story needless to say.
What’s he going to get? Also, with (Alexis) Lafreniere, what’s the situation there? Give us a, what do you understand about what’s happening with the Rangers at once, with those two players by way of extensions?
Friedman: “I believe this, I believe that relating to Shesterkin, I believe it’s just, it’s the Rangers are going to should get comfortable with where he desires to go. I believe he desires to stay in Recent York. I believe he desires to be a Ranger. But I believe there’s a way that he and his representatives view the situation. That’s, he’s the most effective Ranger, and he must be paid as such.
And you understand, EJ, I used to be, I discussed our pod this week, that what one guy said to me was, what he would do is, if he was the Rangers, is he’d offer them yet one more dollar than (Artemi) Panarin and see if that gets it done. And I don’t know if that’s happened, but I believed it was an interesting idea.
I do think the Rangers are ultimately going to should bend on this one. You realize, the opposite thing too is it got out at first of the week last week, and Kevin had a fantastic scoop. It did create some hard feelings, I believe. Just concerning the proven fact that that got out. I believe, like, there have been individuals who felt that Shesterkin was, that was, it was being made to look bad. They didn’t like that.
And so I believe everybody here has sort of gone back down and tried to be a bit bit more airtight. But I still consider at the tip of the day, he’s going to be a long-time Ranger, and the Rangers will just should bend to closer to where he desires to go.”
