As Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing legal drama continues, the rapper is currently having a resurgence along with his music.
In line with the web site Chartmetric, data shows that Diddy’s numbers on music streaming services are increasing. Diddy, 54, currently has 1.79 million followers on Spotify. His page has averaged 13.33 million monthly listeners.
There has also been a slight uptick in Diddy’s numbers on Amazon Music and Soundcloud. Diddy is currently experiencing a “growth” in momentum, per Chartmetric. His numbers on social media apps including TikTok and Facebook have also grown.
Not every platform is showing increased numbers. Despite the climb in streaming data, Diddy can also be facing a decline on Pandora and Deezer.
In September, Diddy was arrested and indicted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. In line with the 14-page indictment, the music mogul was accused of abusing, threatening and coercing women “to meet his sexual desires, protect his repute and conceal his conduct.”
Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the fees and his attorney Marc Agnifilo defended his client in an announcement provided to Us Weekly on the time.
“We’re disenchanted with the choice to pursue what we imagine is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo said within the statement, adding that, “He’s an imperfect person, but he is just not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to Latest York last week in anticipation of those charges. Please reserve your judgment until you may have all of the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to cover, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Diddy stays behind bars on the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He was denied bail, despite filing three different appeals. He’ll remain in prison until his trial which is currently scheduled for May 5, 2025.
Along with the federal charges, Diddy can also be facing lawsuits from multiple victims claiming that they had been abused by him up to now. NBC News reported on Sunday, October 20, five latest sexual assault and rape lawsuits were filed against Diddy. One among the alleged victims claimed that the incident occurred when she was 13 years old.
Earlier this month, six additional lawsuits were filed against Diddy accusing him of rape and sexual assault. The suits were filed anonymously by two unidentified women and 4 unidentified men in Manhattan, per docs obtained by Us. One among the allegations Diddy faces is that he molested a 16-year-old boy.
“The cases are being brought for conduct that occurred over a span starting in 1995, through 2021. The entire events occurred in Latest York and are being filed pursuant to the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act,” lead counsel Tony Buzbee shared in an October 14 statement to Us. “4 of the alleged victims in these cases are male, two are female. One was sixteen on the time of the alleged occurrences. We are going to let the allegations within the filed complaints speak for themselves, and can work to see that justice is completed. We expect to be filing many more cases over the following several weeks naming Mr. Combs and others as defendants as we proceed to collect evidence and prepare the filings.”
Diddy’s lawyers responded with an announcement hours later, writing, “The press conference and 1-800 number that preceded today’s barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity. Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence within the facts, their legal defenses, and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the reality will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.”
