“It sucks. I used to be completely ready. Weight was on point, and I used to be leaner than I’ve ever been before. However the severity of the injury simply didn’t align with the time left for the fight.
“I wasn’t in a position to move properly in any respect so it will have been a s*** fight for the Elizeu, UFC, and the fans. So we needed to make the tough decision of pulling out of this fight.
“That is the primary time ever I’ve had to do that in my skilled profession in over 30 fights and 15 years, so it wasn’t a call taken calmly… “I’ll take a while now to rehab intensively and hopefully be able to fight again around February.”
UFC APEX shows will proceed in 2025
