Grand Theft Auto VI, a brand new mainline installment of considered one of the best-selling video game franchises on the earth, could also be coming to PC sooner slightly than later, based on latest comments that Strauss H. Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two, gave to an analyst during an earnings call that was held yesterday. “We’re seeing great growth in PC immediately,” Zelnick admitted after noting how his company is concentrated on ensuring that its games are on “an array of platforms,” happening to say that PC can be a “increasingly more essential part” of the business going forward and the way the platform “isn’t complicated” to support in any respect. The PC port of Grand Theft Auto V launched in April 2015, a yr and a half following its original versions, which released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013.

Clay Griffin — Analyst: Well, just that Series S is, by design, a lower specced console. And presumably, GTA VI will push loads of boundaries technically, I might suspect.

Strauss H. Zelnick — Chairman and Chief Executive Officer: Yeah. Look, we support the platforms where the consumers are for so long as they’re there, and we discover a strategy to support platforms despite different levels of tech. Our labels are really good at that. I’m probably not frightened.

I’ve never frightened about where hardware was going. And I’ve said this again and again over time because, to begin with, I don’t worry about things over which I even have zero control. And secondly because I do consider within the audience. The audience goes to indicate up if you’ve gotten great properties, and so we just must be sure to be on an array of platforms.

And if one platform diminishes in value, there’s at all times one other one. So we’re seeing great growth in PC immediately, for instance. And I even have been in a position to view that open formats would proceed to grow. PC is an open format.

I do think PC will proceed to be a increasingly more essential a part of the console business going forward, and that isn’t complicated for us to support in any respect. So the underside line is we’re selective about which platforms we support. We make the tech work when we will make it work so long as the audience is sufficiently big to make that worthwhile.
