Recap Of Recent Court Filing Against Diddy
AP News reports that prosecutors submitted the brand new paperwork late Friday (Nov. 15) in a Manhattan federal court. It accommodates redactions but primarily argues against Diddy’s latest $50 million bail proposal. By the way in which, the proposal will get its day in court next week. For now, Diddy has been held on the Brooklyn Metro Detention Center since his arrest in September.
As for the alleged obstruction, prosecutors say they’ve recorded jail calls from Combs to relations. In these alleged calls, Diddy reportedly asked relations to succeed in out to potential victims and witnesses. Moreover, the filing claims that Combs asked his family to create “narratives” to influence the jury pool and beneficial strategies to assist his tainted public image. Note that his trial isn’t set to start until May 5, 2025.
“The defendant has shown repeatedly — even while in custody — that he’ll flagrantly and repeatedly flout rules with the intention to improperly impact the end result of his case. The defendant has shown, in other words, that he can’t be trusted to abide by rules or conditions,” the prosecutors’ filing states.
Prosecutors Claim Sean Combs Is Using His Family Members In THIS Way
Furthermore, prosecutors are implying that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is moving with the intention of blackmailing victims and witnesses into staying quiet or testimony that works in his favor. In addition they claim that Combs has been breaking the principles since he got to Brooklyn-MDC.
For instance, the brand new filing from prosecutors specifically names the birthday celebration Diddy’s kids shared on social media. The disgraced hip-hop mogul turned 55 years old on Nov. 4. That very same day, Justin Combs shared footage of him, Quincy, Jessie, D’Lila, Christian, and Baby Love wishing Diddy a completely satisfied birthday via phone. Combs’ daughter Likelihood was also included within the video, but she spoke to her dad via speakerphone from one other cellphone. “I like y’all a lot.…I can’t wait to see y’all… and I just need to say I’m pleased with y’all — especially the ladies, I mean all of y’all. Only for being strong. Thank y’all for being strong, and thank y’all for being by my side and supporting me. I like y’all. I got the very best family on the planet,” Diddy said in response on the time.
Well, prosecutors are claiming the post wasn’t real, but a social media campaign shared with “the intention of influencing the potential jury.” They allege that Combs encouraged his kids to film and post the moment. Also, prosecutors accuse Combs of monitoring the post’s analytics from jail.
“…[Sean Combs] explicitly discussed along with his family easy methods to make sure that the video had his desired effect on potential jury members on this case,” the brand new court filing reportedly states.
Moreover, prosecutors say that Combs has also made phone calls to anonymously publish information that favors his case. “The defendant’s efforts to obstruct the integrity of this proceeding also includes relentless efforts to contact potential witnesses, including victims of his abuse who could provide powerful testimony against him,” prosecutors allege.
Meanwhile, Quincy Brown and his biological dad, Al B. Sure!, have been a recent topic on social media. Al addressed speculations that his son shaded him with a death anniversary tribute to Kim Porter. Along with clearing the air, he also threw some shade of his own at Diddy.
