Samantha’s father Joseph Prabhu has passed away. The Citadel: Honey Bunny actress took to social media to substantiate the news and shared a heartbreaking post. On her Instagram story section, she wrote, “Until we meet again, Dad” together with a broken heart emoji.
A few days ago, the actress opened up about her relationship together with her father. She said that she needed to fight for validation growing up and even after getting good grades at school, her father wouldn’t praise her. “All my life growing up, I needed to fight for validation. My father was type of like… I believe most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you. He told me, ‘You’re not that smart.’ [He told me]‘That is just the usual of Indian education. That’s why even you may get a primary rank. Once you say that to a toddler, I believed for the longest time that I’m not smart or ok.”
