The Witcher IV Gets a Cinematic 6-Minute Trailer Made Using Unreal Engine 5

CD PROJEKT RED has dropped a surprising 6-minute cinematic trailer for The Witcher IV debuting Ciri as the following game’s foremost character. It has long been suspected by fans that Ciri might take the lead role for the following installment of the immensely popular franchise given the quantity of character development that occurred within the last game. Geralt’s ward was prominently featured throughout much of The Witcher 3 with background stories starting from childhood as much as becoming a young adult monster slayer that included numerous solo missions. Some began to wonder if she might make a cameo in Cyberpunk 2044 after sharing interesting details with Geralt about her dimension-jumping adventures to a wierd place, but plainly will not be to be.

CD PROJEKT RED revealed early on that it will not be using its in-house RED engine for the fourth installment, which has passed by the codename Polaris, and as a substitute would switch over to Unreal Engine 5. No release date has been revealed for The Witcher 4 and it’s believed to still be numerous years out but it surely was recently said that the event team is now fully staffed and the title is in full production. The following game can also be said to be the beginning of a brand new trilogy as well but it surely’s still not known if Geralt, or some other Witchers seen in the primary trilogy, will make an appearance. One other detail regarding the brand new trailer, which was revealed at The Game Awards 2024, is that it was rendered using a yet unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU, with CES 2025 right across the corner it’s already rumored that CEO Jensen Huang may very well be planning something tied to the sport and the RTX 50 series launch.
