Steam has revealed its best games of 2024 across several categories: Top Sellers, Latest Releases, Most Played, Steam Deck, Controller, and VR. While revenue specifics aren’t revealed for every title, Steam groups them into buckets, and the games inside those buckets are randomly sorted: Platinum (1-12), Gold (13-24), Silver (25-50), and Bronze (51-100). Data from January 1, 2024 through December 15, 2024 was used to generate these lists.
Regarding each category, Top Sellers are the best-selling games on Steam based on total gross revenue, which is why you’ll see some free-to-play titles on the list. The Latest Releases category covers the best-selling releases of 2024 based on their first two weeks of revenue after release. For Most Played, Steam showcases the games that surpassed 50,000 peak players through the 12 months.
The Steam Deck category is self-explanatory; it’s probably the most played games for Steam Deck users in 2024, and any game is eligible to make this list. For Controller, these are probably the most played games amongst controller users. Finally, the VR category features the highest VR games based on revenue earned during 2024.
