Ahead of CES 2025 in January, LG has unveiled two latest monitors as a part of the UltraGear GX9 series. Each displays are 45-inch, 21:9 gaming monitors that boast a 5120×2160 resolution (5K2K) and have second-generation Dual-Mode with one-touch switching between preset resolution and refresh rate combos. The more exciting of the 2 is the 45GX990A, which LG is touting because the world’s first bendable 5K2K gaming monitor with Dual-Mode. In accordance with LG, the monitor can transition from completely flat to a 900R curvature inside seconds, while the upgraded Dual-Mode allows users to modify between resolution and refresh rate presets, in addition to customize aspect ratio and movie size. The display has a 0.03ms GtG response time, but its refresh rate is unclear.
The second monitor is the world’s first 45-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor featuring 800R curvature and DisplayPort 2.1. Just like its bendable counterpart, the 45GX950A features Dual-Mode functionality with eight customizable configurations. Each monitors are certified by NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
There’s a 3rd display that’s also joining the lineup, the all-new LG UltraGear 39GXS90SA. It’s a wise monitor powered by webOS and might function a house entertainment hub. It’s a 39-inch OLED display with 21:9 aspect ratio and 800R curvature.
Like all CES announcements, we are able to expect pricing, availability, and full specs to be revealed at a later date. We’re mostly curious to listen to that the refresh rates are on these 5K2K displays.
