Sportsnet: Frank Seravalli on the disagreement/feud between Vancouver Canucks Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller.
** NHLRumors.com transcription
Nick Kypreos: “Just another. Yet another. And just by way of your thoughts on that is, I don’t know what do you need to call it, disagreement, feud between Pettersson and JT Miller, and whether or not it’ll cost certainly one of them traded, because everybody’s feeling like names are on the market.
Do you see any scenario where they, they move certainly one of them? And the sense is it could be JT Miller before Pettersson. Love your thoughts on this.”
NHL Rumors: Wish Lists and Presents for All Teams
Seravalli: “Look, could it, could I see a scenario that,t that world exists? Yeah, I believe I could. I believe it’s probably a single-digit percentage point. Look, at the top of the day, these two guys have played together since 2019. They each signed eight-year contracts knowing that the opposite one was there. We didn’t hear a peep about this last season, regardless that this has been ongoing for years.
Two guys that look on any given team in any work environment you’ve ever been in, not each person gets together with everyone else, and that’s okay. That’s a fact of life.
I do think it’s something that they probably have to more consciously manage this 12 months. And it does, can we get to some extent where certainly one of these guys raises their hand and says, ‘I’ve had enough. I can’t do it anymore.’ Perhaps.
But I can only inform you that the largest loser in that situation will almost definitely be the Vancouver Canucks, since it’s gonna be difficult to seek out equal value for those players in return.
NHL Rumors: The Vancouver Canucks are Lively on the Trade Market
In case you wanna change it up. Sure, doesn’t mean the Canucks are gonna be higher off for it within the short-term or the long-term, and I believe they’ve got every incentive on the planet to try to work this out.”
