Rapper Ice Spice faced a wave of backlash after arriving nearly half-hour late to her highly anticipated Recent 12 months’s Eve performance on the Wildlands Festival in Queensland, Australia.
The “Barbie World” singer, who was the headline act, was scheduled to perform on the Brisbane Showgrounds on Tuesday evening.
Nonetheless, fans of Ice Spice were left frustrated when the rapper showed up 25 minutes late for her 30-minute set.

Ice Spice Shows Up Late To Her Performance
When Ice Spice finally hit the stage, the situation only worsened. Just five minutes into her performance, her microphone was cut off by event organizers as a consequence of the looming 12:30 a.m. curfew. Despite appearing to proceed performing, her voice couldn’t be heard because the stage was being cleared to make way for the following act.
As boos echoed from the group, the “Deli” artist was seen pacing backwards and forwards across the stage before flashing a peace sign and exiting without addressing the audience.
Upset fans, a few of whom had traveled as much as six hours and spent over $350 per ticket, took to social media to precise their anger.

Video Of Ice Spice Being Booed Off Stage Goes Viral
Video footage of the transient and chaotic performance quickly went viral, with many questioning the dearth of professionalism and the festival’s time management.
“Being late is just unprofessional, within the UK we have now curfews for music so if someone runs over the mic is just cut, I’ve never seen an artist here be late cos we just don’t allow it,” one person expressed within the comments section.
“Let’s respect everybody’s money and time,” one other said.
“I like that she looks like she desires to cry,” a 3rd expressed.

The Venue Releases A Statement
In response to the backlash, Wildlands Festival organizers issued a press release on Instagram addressing the situation:
“We understand that Ice Spice’s delayed arrival caused some disappointment. Managing a stacked festival signifies that we have now to be extremely firm with set times. We had a strict curfew of 12:30 and want to make sure that the ultimate act went on stage on time, so everyone could benefit from the Recent 12 months’s Eve countdown.”
“She’s disrespectful, so good on Wildlands,” one user said after hearing the venue’s response.
“All venues should do that when artists are late,” one other said.
“Them pulling the plug on her was iconic,” a 3rd commented.

Crowd Goers Speak Out
Gold Coast music podcaster and journalist Brenton Larney was among the many audience for the transient six-minute performance.
“At 11.01pm – they gave her an additional minute … – they cut the mic and also you heard the collective sigh from the group,” he told The Guardian. “They’d been waiting for some time and so they get two songs? In order that was a bit ridiculous and it was just really disrespectful how she walked off, she was laughing they tried to provide her flowers for her birthday and she or he just shrugged them off.”
He noted that Ice Spice seemed subdued and gave off the impression that “she didn’t need to be there.”
“It was just really disrespectful to see, especially with all of the cancellations and stuff we’ve had within the Australian music scene,” he said. “It didn’t help.”

Fans Respond To Ice Spice’s Attitude
Mia Sims, a 20-year-old dance teacher from the Gold Coast, shared that she and lots of others had arrived half-hour early to secure a very good spot within the mosh pit before Ice Spice’s scheduled performance. Consequently, fans were pressed together for nearly an hour in total, all for what turned out to be an especially transient set.
“And he or she got here out and played two songs – and so they weren’t even two of her hottest songs,” Sims said. “It type of appeared like a little bit of a joke, like she didn’t really care that much and particularly, like, she hasn’t posted anything on her socials or apologized. So I couldn’t imagine being one in all her biggest fans and that taking place. I’d be pretty devastated”.
