WWE star CM Punk is seemingly in the ultimate few years of his in-ring profession, and he has outlined plans for when he calls time on his Hall of Fame profession.
Punk, who has been in the professional wrestling business for over twenty years, believes that he’ll stay within the industry when he hangs up his boots but has ruled out running a promotion. But, he foresees a future where he could develop into a mentor or coach behind the scenes.
“Oh, no, if I start my very own promotion, I need you to search out me wherever I’m and just kick my ass [laughs]. That is concerning the worst idea, man,” Punk joked on “Nightcap.” “No, I do think there’s an avenue for me to proceed to be within the business behind the scenes, helping. But, I feel in case you’re price your weight, you are doing that now. I feel, on a football team, on a hockey team, on a baseball team, there’s the veterans that help, usher in the brand new talent, the young guys, they usually help move things along.”
Punk asserted that giving back to the business that has given him lots is something that’s on his mind.
“Three parts to a profession — you begin and, to me, that is if you learn; there’s the center part, that is where you earn; and the third part is return. Now you give back. I’d definitely sit up for that third act and giving back to the business that has given me a lot,” he added.
Since his return to WWE, Punk has been seen backstage in “WWE NXT,” offering words of wisdom to the young stars within the developmental brand, with Shawn Michaels even discussing the potential of Punk taking up from him. Others have also vouched for Punk to don the hat of a coach, with Mark Henry recently stating that “The Second City Saint” is a great teacher.
