India predict significant dew on the Eden Gardens for the primary T20I against England on Wednesday and are more likely to go along with just two spinners of their playing 11. In response to news agency PTI, those two are more likely to be all-rounder and vice-captain Axar Patel and the in-form Varun Chakaravarthy.
The team has been practicing with the wet ball to organize themselves for the dew, which is sort of prevalent here in winter. The wet ball is difficult to grip and control, especially for spinners, which implies leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi and off-spinner Washington Sundar are more likely to warm the bench for the series opener.
“If we all know there’s going to be a heavy dew, you begin preparing with the wet ball. You begin bowling with the wet ball during practice sessions. You field with the wet ball. So these are the things that are in your control,” skipper Suryakumar said within the pre-series press conference, as quoted by PTI.
“We try to regulate all those things which we will during practice sessions in order that when the sport comes, we’re prepared.”
Pacers are generally preferred in such conditions, so pace all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who had a superb Test tour of Australia, could possibly be in for a probability.

India has also been boosted by Mohammed Shami’s return after over a 12 months away with injuries on his ankle and knee.

“I would like to see him hitting sixes. He has measured all of the nooks and corners of Eden Gardens, having played numerous cricket here. It is going to be a superb welcome for him. It’s at all times a superb stadium with an awesome atmosphere,” Suryakumar said.
