Travis Kelce wants Jason Kelce to hitch him on the sphere at Super Bowl LIX.
“After all I wish Jason was on the market. Being on the mountaintop along with your brother is something special that I’ll always remember. Obviously, being so near him retiring, I wish he would have played one other 12 months,” Kelce, 35, told reporters at a press conference on Monday, February 3. “But he’s very content where he’s in life straight away, and I’m joyful as hell for him. He gets to be around his family and his baby girls somewhat bit more.”
Travis added: “I’ll go on the market and take a look at and represent the family as best I can.”
Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Philadelphia Eagles — Jason’s former team — in Recent Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on Sunday, February 9. In 2023, the tight end faced off against his Jason, 37, in Super Bowl LVII, which ended with the Chiefs defeating the Eagles, 38 to 35. Jason retired from the NFL last 12 months.
As of last week, the elder Kelce brother was undecided about which team’s merch to wear at the massive game.
“We’d like to get you a mom jacket [or] a jersey,” Travis told Jason on the Wednesday, January 29, episode of their “Recent Heights” podcast, referring to their mother Donna Kelce’s split Eagles/Chiefs clothing pieces. “We got to get a cut-and-sew motion here where we will get you cheering for each teams like mom’s done, 12 months in [and] 12 months out.”
While Jason appreciated the thought, he clashed with it on principle.
“I can’t wear red,” he stated. “I can’t wear it. I can’t bring myself to it.”
As a substitute, Jason was considering an alternative choice to the Chiefs’ signature color.
“I’m gonna wear my ‘Recent Heights’ Big Yeti shirt,” he said on the podcast, adding that he’d don the yellow quite than the red version of the shirt. Travis, for his part, supported his sibling’s sartorial alternative.
Jason made sure to make clear that he’ll be rooting for the Eagles and the Chiefs come Sunday.
“Obviously, you’re my brother. I’ll all the time root for my brother. That’s the fact of it. All right,” he said, adding, “I could be lying if I said I don’t want the Eagles to win. what I mean? I would like them to, but I also want Travis Kelce to win. So, that’s a long-winded way of claiming I just need to see a very good football game, and whoever wins, I’m going to be joyful for that guy.”
