Mariah May Pitches Title For Title Match With Mercedes Mone, Gabe Kidd Calls Out Kenny Omega

During a recent appearance on the “Casual Conversations” podcast, Mariah May pitched a title for title match with Mercedes Mone but noted that she wasn’t eager about The CEO’s “indie” championships.

May is the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion, while Mone holds the TBS, NJPW Strong, and RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Titles.

May said, We may as well. I say title for title. I’m not eager about this plethora of indie titles she’s now running around on TV with. I don’t care, I don’t need to cover up this body. I’m eager about the world title and the TBS Title because I’m in All Elite Wrestling, so I’d love to carry each. Mariah Two Belts? How about that? But she form of got here in along with her little M.M. initials, attempting to steal my flame, and it hasn’t really worked out for her because I’m the world champion, she’s not. Yes, I used to be all the time a fan of Mercedes. Coming up as a wrestler, I assumed she was unbelievable, and she or he does change the sport and she or he does make history, and she or he does push boundaries. So she’s definitely someone I need to step within the ring with. But I don’t know if individuals are ready for that. I don’t think they’re. That’s a number of star power in a single ring, and I don’t think AEW women have had that, so I don’t know in the event that they’re ready for that.”

During a recent interview with NJPW1972.com, Gabe Kidd revealed that he wants a rematch with Kenny Omega following their intense battle at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty 2025.

Omega won that match after feuding with Kidd for weeks.

You’ll be able to take a look at some highlights from the interview below:

On how he feels after wrestling within the Tokyo Dome: “It doesn’t matter how I’m feeling physically. I’m going to maintain going regardless. It doesn’t matter that I wrestled 31 minutes within the Tokyo Dome after which six days later wrestled one other 30 in San Jose with certainly one of the toughest men in wrestling Tomohiro Ishii. That doesn’t matter because mentally I feel higher than ever. I did what I all the time said I’d do. Kenny won that match within the Tokyo Dome, but I won the war. ‘War Ready’ for a reason. It’s a loss in my column, and I only need to get wins from here- if I used to be 100% I’d have battered Ishii in San Jose in ten minutes- but the reply to your query is I feel great.”

On wrestling Omega: “I’ll give him credit. He isn’t the phony I assumed he was, or that I said he was before. He’s the most effective of the most effective and that’s who I should be within the ring with. He got me, but I do want round two. When the time is correct, I do. And , it’ll be harder a second time. Tokyo Dome was his first match back, his first step back into the wrestling ring. A second time and he’ll be more confident, he’ll have been wrestling consistently. There’s little doubt, I could feel and you’ll be able to see watching the match back that he was nervous in there. It’s a credit to him as a wrestler that he was capable of beat me, because I used to be 100%. It’s given me things to work on, and that’s what I’m doing with my coaches, so next time we face off I’ll be 100% higher than the 100% I used to be then.”

On representing NJPW vs. AEW on the event: “one hundred pc. In my head, this was NJPW vs AEW. That company has more cash than us, it has stars there that was stars for us. So in my mind I desired to put Latest Japan back on the map. Latest Japan is the most effective wrestling company on this planet, and it has been for a very long time, so I desired to represent, and I desired to prove this company is the most effective. possibly it’s to my detriment, but I desired to win that match with easy moves. I desired to beat Kenny with what I learned within the Dojo. Possibly I must have pushed the boat out a bit of bit further, but I desired to win for me. I desired to beat him in a straightforward way that individuals have seen hundreds of times. While you’re within the ring you’re rolling with the punches and a few of that thought goes out the window, but was it conscious? Absolutely.”
