Prince Andrew has definitely caused quite the stir lately, a lot in order that a faculty named after him will likely be rebranded.
Students at Prince Andrew School – the one secondary school on the distant British overseas territory of St Helena – have been asked to provide you with something more ‘neutral’.
The federal government of St Helena said the name change has even got the backing of Buckingham Palace.
The choice to rename stems from ‘recent public controversy’ and ‘negative media coverage’, the federal government on the island said.
Head teacher Phil Toal said: ‘While we respect history, we must even be mindful of how past associations impact the current and future.
‘Selecting a brand new name allows us to honour the contributions of our students and community without the burden of controversial ties.’

The brand new name is predicted to be unveiled as early as this month as the college waves goodbye to its association with the Duke.
‘The college believes this alteration is an important step in ensuring its name embodies the values, aspirations, and identity of its students and the broader community,’ the statement said.
‘The choice to rename the college stems from several aspects, including recent public controversy and negative media coverage.
‘The college believes a neutral name will foster a positive and forward-thinking learning environment, free from contentious associations.’
Prince Andrew is currently under fire after Donald Trump’s latest FBI chief vowed to ‘do every part‘ to show Jeffrey Epstein’s associates.
Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement and paid hundreds of thousands to Virginia Giuffre in 2022 to avoid going to trial.
This was over allegations he sexually abused Ms Giuffre 3 times when she was just 17, and while she was the victim of a trafficking ring orchestrated by Epstein and his girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
Andrew has all the time denied the allegations.
King Charles reportedly cut off Andrew’s ‘£1million allowance’ within the fallout after the Duke settled out of court with Ms Giuffre.
More recently, Andrew has faced further scrutiny over links to an alleged Chinese spy.
The alleged spy was apparently invited to Andrew’s celebration in 2020 – but he’s now been banned from the UK by MI5 on ‘security grounds’.
