Ruben Amorim has suggested that Chido Obi-Martin shouldn’t be close to creating his first-team debut for Manchester United.

Obi-Martin is considered among the finest young striker prospects in Europe and left Arsenal’s academy to hitch United last October.

In his final season at Arsenal, Obi-Martin scored 32 goals in 18 matches for the Under-18s, including 10 in a single game against Liverpool.

Since moving to United, the 17-year-old has scored nine goals in 10 appearances for the youth team.

With each Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to seek out the web, United supporters have called on Amorim handy Obi-Martin his first-team debut for his or her FA Cup fourth-round tie against Leicester City on Friday night.

Ahead of the sport, Ruud van Nistelrooy has already confirmed that academy wingers Jeremy Monga, 15, and Jake Evans, 16, can be on Leicester’s substitutes’ bench at Old Trafford.

But when asked in regards to the prospect of giving Obi-Martin minutes in the primary team, Amorim said: ‘He’s doing his job, he’s improving, he’s playing within the youth teams, and we’ve also other players that may play in that position.

‘Rasmus [Hojlund] and Josh [Zirkzee] are there, we bought these two players, so we’d like to enhance them after which sometimes the boldness can change a player.

‘We are going to see ultimately of the season, but, until then, we’ve two strikers that may rating goals.

‘They proved it up to now. Let’s see if we are able to improve as a team, to assist them to attain goals.’
