‘Bro’ podcasts on the left attract much less attention

Anna Nicolaou’s Weekend Essay “‘Into the ‘manosphere’” (Life & Arts, FT Weekend, January 25) was actually a well-researched and informative dive into the influence of right-leaning “bro” podcasters.

Nonetheless her focus ignored the opposite side of the coin — namely the leftist “bro” podcasters (colloquially known on the “Dirtbag Left”) versus the “establishment”. Whereas right-leaning podcasts are backed by a network of corporate money, Chapo Trap House, TrueAnon, and the Adam Friedland Show (formerly Cum Town) subsist largely on listener subscriptions while providing similarly coarse yet thought-provoking discussions which might be truly unshackled from “establishment” influence.

Perhaps it might be value exploring why these leftist thinkers languish without the identical political caché as their conservative rivals.
