The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a series of photos from the 2025 Invictus Games’ opening day. The primary featured Prince Harry, 40, and a slew of athletes smiling and posing for a gaggle photo. Meghan returned to the social media platform on January 1, 2025, nearly five years after she and the Duke of Sussex wrote their last post on the @royalsussex account.
“As we will all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile. Yet we’re confident that each human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and people on the front line—together we will lift one another up to appreciate the fullness of that promise,” the 2 wrote in March 2020.
“While you could not see us here, the work continues. Thanks to this community — for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the great on this planet. We sit up for reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great! Until then, please take excellent care of yourselves, and of each other,” they added.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke to attendees and their families on Friday, February 7 on the welcome event for the Invictus Games. “Well, hello, you. Hi, everybody. How are we feeling?” Meghan began her unplanned speech. “So, I used to be not planning on speaking tonight and we just arrived a pair hours ago. I touched Canadian soil and I used to be like, ‘Ah, appears like home.’ We’re so excited.”
Meghan previously lived in Toronto for several years while filming the hit TV series Suits. This 12 months’s Invictus Games are being held in Vancouver, Canada.
Harry founded the Games in 2014 as a solution to support wounded veterans. He previously served 10 years within the British Army.
