UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping got here to Canelo Alvarez’s defense amidst Jake Paul’s ongoing attacks after their fight fell apart.
Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez were about to face off in a blockbuster boxing match later this yr. But in the ultimate stages of negotiations, Alvarez pulled out of the Paul fight talks after signing a lucrative four-fight cope with Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season.
Because the Alvarez vs. Paul fight fell apart, Paul has relentlessly attacked Alvarez and his team. He leaked a signed agreement and questioned Alvarez’s business integrity after withdrawing from their proposed matchup.
As Paul looks ahead to other opponents for his return, a UFC Hall of Famer blasted Paul’s behavior within the aftermath of the Alvarez fight talks.
Michael Bisping reignites Jake Paul feud with harsh criticism of recent Canelo attacks
During a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Michael Bisping didn’t hold back in response to Paul’s taunts.
“Jake Paul is at it again making an absolute idiot out of himself,” Bisping said of Paul. “Calling out Canelo Alvarez, making videos, dancing around in a sombrero along with his shirt off. Paying absolutely no respect and saying that Canelo Alvarez is ducking him and showing contracts and apparently they were all signed to fight, but then he’s terrified and he’s gone off to Saudi Arabia and he’s selling his soul and all the remainder of it.
“Shut the hell up, Jake Paul.” (h/t BJPenn)
Bisping ended his rant by questioning the integrity of Paul’s boxing profession.
“I’m very glad that Canelo Alvarez is not going to be gracing the ring, moving into the squared circle with that imposter, with that fake, with that wannabe,” Bisping continued on Paul. “Jake Paul has been an incredible businessman, okay? He will not be a fighter.”
This is much from the primary time that Bisping has criticized Paul during his boxing profession. After Bisping and Paul were briefly linked to a fight, Bisping has repeatedly downplayed Paul’s accomplishments and belittled the polarizing boxer.
Jake Paul in talks with ‘high profile opponents’ after Canelo Alvarez fallout
UFC CEO Dana White trolled Paul in the course of the UFC 312 post-fight press conference when asked for his response to Alalshikh luring Alvarez away from the fight talks. Paul has had multiple feuds with UFC personalities during his boxing profession and fought multiple UFC legends.
Paul and Most Useful Promotions are turning their attention towards ‘high profile opponents’ for Paul’s upcoming fights. A rematch with Tommy Fury is feasible after Fury’s recent fight withdrawal and after Fury handed Paul his first profession loss in 2023.
After the Alvarez fight fell through, Bisping and others haven’t missed opportunities to criticize Paul’s behavior in recent days.
