The theme of celebrities in WWE extends back a long time, with a notable example coming in the shape of actor Mister T at WrestleMania 1. In accordance with “WWE SmackDown” star LA Knight, the effectiveness of this celebrity usage is usually depending on the celebrities themselves, specifically their physical abilities, or lack thereof.
“I feel personally you bought to be a little bit choosy with who’s going to are available in and get that physical involvement just due to the proven fact that not everybody’s got an athletic bone of their body,” Knight told “Battleground Podcast.”
“Should you go around to any wrestling school on any given day, you may see a complete lot of that. You bought to wonder ‘Why do you’re thinking that you might do that? Why are you doing this? Why are you even setting foot in a hoop, you’ve got not a single athletic bone in your body.’ Not everybody can do that. My one qualm with having too many celebrities do that is that it gives people the concept anybody can do that. Not anybody can do that. Only a few people can do that and do it well.”
For Knight, the likes of Bad Bunny and Logan Paul are successful cases of celebrities involving themselves in pro wrestling, as they not only possess natural in-ring skills, but additionally spent an intensive period of time learning the craft on a deeper level ahead of their respective appearances. Alternatively, Knight cites “Jersey Shore” star Snooki, who famously stepped into the ring at WrestleMania 27, as a less successful case, as he considers her less athletically inclined.
