Reading your leader “America has turned on its friends” (FT View, February 22) I did wonder could it’s true that Donald Trump is a student of Noam Chomsky?
Back in 1992, Chomsky wrote a book titled What Uncle Sam Really Wants by which he lays out the three essential strategies the US uses to shape the world to its own agenda: economic and political control over other nations; intervention and military influence; and suppression of different political and economic systems.
These three strategies seem to explain current US foreign policy and we should always not be so surprised as they’ve at all times been the strategies but just implemented in other ways.
