Indians are over the moon as our national cricket team has won the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Rohit Sharma’s team competed against Recent Zealand in the ultimate match, held in Dubai on Sunday evening. Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has called out his country for not sending any representative despite being the hosting nation.
The Pakistan Cricket Board hosted the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Nonetheless, as a result of the persisting rifts between Pak and India, it was decided that the matches played by our country can be held on neutral ground. Hence, Dubai International Cricket Stadium was finalized because the neutral venue of the tournament.
India won against Recent Zealand in an intense finale last evening. Shoaib Akhtar couldn’t help but notice that there was no representative from the Pakistan Cricket Board on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 finale ceremony. He said in a viral video, “Pakistan was hosting the tournament, yet there was no representative on the ceremony. I cannot understand why no one represented the trophy or handed it over?”
Shoaib Akhtar continued, “It’s beyond me. Give it some thought please, this can be a world stage, any person must have represented. Feeling very all the way down to see that.”
Indian fans took no time and started bashing Pakistan. Many even said that Shoaib Akhtar’s country lacks sportsmanship.
A user commented, “Because your Pakistani Qom lacks Sportsmanship. You guys are sore losers who look every part through the Islamic lens. However, Virat Kohli touched Shami’s mother’s feet to hunt her blessing and as a mark of respect.”
