Ravichandran Ashwin Shares Interesting Insight After First CSK Training Session Ahead Of IPL 2025

Ravichandran Ashwin recently took part in his first training session with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after joining their camp ahead of IPL 2025. The veteran spinner has made a comeback to the franchise where his IPL journey began in 2009. CSK secured his services for a hefty INR 9.75 crore on the mega auction last December.

Ashwin previously won two IPL titles with CSK in 2010 and 2011 under MS Dhoni’s leadership. He last played for the team in 2015 before representing Rising Pune Supergiant, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals.

In a video shared by CSK on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Ashwin reflected on his long-awaited return to the franchise following his first training session ahead of IPL 2025. He expressed his thoughts with enthusiasm, saying:

“It feels very odd actually, it has been so a few years since I left right? I’m coming back into the identical team. All of the individuals are the identical. Daily I used to practice vigorously for the season. After I got here here today, I feel Iam a really senior person, but okay. Nevertheless, it’s feeling. I’m looking forward to going to Chepauk as well.”

Ravichandran Ashwin’s IPL stats with Chennai Super Kings

Between 2009 and 2015, Ravichandran Ashwin represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 97 IPL matches, claiming 90 wickets at a mean of 24.22 and a powerful economy rate of 6.46, showcasing his consistency as a key bowler. His best bowling figures during this era were an excellent 3/16.

With the bat, Ashwin scored 190 runs in 31 innings at a strike rate of 94, together with his highest rating being 23. He also contributed in the sphere by taking 20 catches for the franchise. CSK will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign on March 23 with a match against Mumbai Indians at Chepauk.
