Ukraine’s president says he’s willing to just accept a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire – but says the US ‘must persuade’ Russia to conform to it as well.

Volodymyr Zelensky made the statement after a gathering between senior US and Ukrainian officials in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, earlier today.

He added: ‘Ukraine accepts this proposal. We consider it positive, and we’re able to take such a step.

‘Ukraine is prepared for peace. Russia must show its readiness to finish the war or proceed the war. It’s time for the total truth.’
