The Karnataka government announced on Wednesday that it could withdraw its previous order. Ranya’s stepfather, Ramachandra Rao, is currently the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation.

In a follow-up order, it was stated that Additional Chief Secretary Gaurav Gupta is already looking into the possible involvement of Ranya’s stepfather.
