Five-time champions Mumbai Indians on Thursday introduced Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff as their ‘spirit coach’, with lower than 10 days to go for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League.
As Mumbai gets ready for IPL 2025, MI have dropped the primary leg of its all-new season campaign, #PlayLikeMumbai, a tribute to Mumbai’s resilience, fearless attitude and street-smart cricket culture that outline each town and its iconic team, MI.
Inspired by town’s gully culture and street-smart spirit, #PlayLikeMumbai shows MI’s core team- from Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma of the gullies to Suryakumar Yadav, ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma, who embody Mumbai’s hustle and hunger to win, with some special names for them.

In a singular step, Shroff has stepped into the role of the Spirit Coach for MI. Bringing his iconic swag and dialogues, he is anticipated to fireplace up the team and its fans, channelling the essence of the campaign throughout IPL 2025.
The campaign involves life with a hard-hitting rap anthem featuring town’s very own voices, singer Srushti Tawade and rappers Sambata and Kaam Bhari.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians’ batting coach, Kieron Pollard, joined the camp on Wednesday ahead of IPL 2025. MI released a video of the identical on the social media platform X.
One of the crucial destructive all-rounders in T20s, Pollard joined Mumbai in 2010 and played a vital role of their five title victories in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
