WBC World Flyweight champion Kenshiro ‘The Amazing Boy’ Teraji got here from behind to stop WBA champ Seigo Yuri Akui within the twelfth and final round within the foremost event in a unification bout on Thursday night on the Kokugikan, in Tokyo, Japan.
Teraji, 25-1 (16) knocked out Akui, 21-3-1 (11) at 1:31 of the twelfth and final round. Within the third round Akui rocked Teraji with a right on the chin midway within the round. Within the sixth round, they took turns rocking each other. Within the eighth round Akui took one other round.
Teraji landed half a dozen unanswered punches within the twelfth and final round before Akui grabbed him right into a clinch. Several punches later from Teraji and referee Katsuhiko Nakamura called a halt. Teraji was behind on the scorecards going into the ultimate round by scores of 108-106, 105-104 and 105-104.
WBO World flyweight champion Anthony ‘Princesa’ Olascuaga, 9-1 (6) defeated Hiroto Kyoguchi, 19-3 (12) by a 12-round unanimous decision.
The scores were 117-110, 118-109 and 114-113. The referee was Jose Hiram Rivera
WBO World light flyweight champion Shokichi Iwata, 14-2 (11) lost to Rene ‘Chulo’ Santiago, 14-4 (9) by a 12-round unanimous decision.
The scores were 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112. The referee was Benjamin Rodriguez
Bantamweight Tomoya Tsuboi, 1-0 (1) knocked out Boonrueang Phayom, 14-4 (14) at 2:34 of the second round of a scheduled eight round fight.
Within the second round, Tsuboi had Phayom defenseless, stopping him.
Lightweight Yuki Nagano, 0-1) lost to southpaw Takumi Ebina, 2-1 (1) by a 4 round unanimous decision.
The scores were 38-37, 38-37 and 38-37.
Welterweight Junya Nemoto, 0-1) was beaten by Naoki Matsumura, 1-2) by a 4 round unanimous decision.
