Orange Cassidy Discusses His Gimmick, Mike Bailey On His AEW Debut, MLP Mayhem News

During a recent appearance on the “Geek Time” podcast, AEW wrestler Orange Cassidy explained how he developed his laid-back gimmick.

In line with Cassidy, he didn’t create the character; he just lived his life.

Cassidy said, “I didn’t. I just lived my life. There are some days all of us don’t wish to stand up and go to work, right?”

“Speedball” Mike Bailey made his AEW debut this past Wednesday on Dynamite, defeating The Beast Mortos.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Bailey stated that his delay in debuting for AEW after wrapping up with TNA Wrestling was because of visa issues.

On the response to his AEW debut: “My phone has been buzzing nonstop for the reason that match happened with people saying congratulations, but I’m doing my best to reply to each message and each single tweet and I can’t (laughs). There’s been too many, it’s been unattainable to say thanks to everyone, but I need to and I believe immediately is the right likelihood to do it, right?”

On coming up along with his vengeance: “After I began in PWG, I used only a Shooting Star Press as my ending move, but there was also Ricochet there, also Matt Sydal and Andrew Everett there, who were all using the Shooting Star Press, so I used to be like I gotta make mine unique, I gotta find something different, so I added the knees, right. And I didn’t have a reputation for it, it was just Shooting Star Knee Drop until I got to DDT and that’s when I made a decision to call it ‘The Ultimate Weapon.’ Final Fantasy 7 is one in all my favorite games, I play it so often, but Sephroth who’s the principal bad guy and ‘The Ultimate Weapon’ is a sword that Cloud, the principal character uses and the ultimate cut scene after you beat the last boss. There’s just a bit battle but it surely’s like a one-on-one little cutscene, you principally win robotically, but it surely’s principally the principal character using ‘The Ultimate Weapon’ to deal the ultimate blow to Sephroth, ‘The One Winged Angel’ and that’s the image that led me to naming my finish, ‘The Ultimate Weapon.’”

On coming up with something recent during his time away: “I’ve thought of it quite a bit, I’ve been practicing that move. I felt I needed something quicker, something more direct, something that requires a less specific setup than ‘The Ultimate Weapon’. And through the whole time I used to be off, I used to be in Canada getting my visa renewed between December and March and I spent plenty of time there several hours every week within the IWS dojo, which is a wrestling school in Montreal training and teaching there, and I’ve been working on that kick extremely hard every likelihood I get for the last three months. And I call it, name reveal right here, ‘Time Adventure.’ Which is a reference to the ultimate episode of what’s one in all the best TV shows of all time, ‘Adventure Time.’”

And at last, during Saturday’s MLP Mayhem (Night Two) event, the finals for the inaugural women’s championship tournament were announced.

Gisele Shaw and Kylie Rae will compete to find out the promotion’s inaugural champion at MLP ‘Northern Rising’ on May 10.

Shaw won against Laynie Luck on the primary night and Serena Deeb on the second night. Then again, Rae defeated Zoe Sager on the primary night and Taylor Rising on the second night.
