Actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran was in Mumbai on Thursday to advertise his upcoming Malayalam film, L2 Empuraan, which features Mohanlal within the lead role. Among the many film’s solid is Nikhat Khan Hegde, Aamir Khan’s sister, who plays the character of Subhadra Ben and Prithviraj Sukumaran made an enormous revelation on casting.
Prithviraj Sukumaran Reveals Not Knowing Aamir Khan’s Sister Nikhat Hegde
When chatting with the press about her casting, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared an interesting anecdote: he chosen her for the role before realizing Nikhat Hegde’s connection to Aamir Khan. Prithviraj told the press he was so impressed with Nikhat’s casting tape that he wanted her to play Subhadra. It’s only later that his casting agent tells him she’s Aamir’s sister.
He said, “I said I like her once I saw her audition. I said I would like her. My casting director said, oh yeah she’s wonderful. By the way in which she’s also Aamir sir’s sister. I said, really? So then I called Aamir sir. I would like to inform you, he just messaged me asking me, is my sister good within the film? So I said, sir, she’s loads higher than good.”
Lucifer Will Be Re-releasing On This Date
The director expressed hope that this sequel to his successful 2019 film Lucifer will resonate with audiences nationwide, because it is about to be released on March 27 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi.“We dream very big, us down south. And this time I feel we’ve managed to follow it up with some seriously good work. Let’s see. I’m nowhere near essentially the most finessed filmmaker that we now have within the wonderful state of Kerala. But I hope this film has an even bigger finesse that may appeal to you,” he said.
About Nikhat Hedge’s Roles
Nikhat, recognized for her roles in movies like Pathaan and Mission Mangal, also shared insights about her character. In an introductory video, she described Subhadra Ben as a regal figure who owns an enormous haveli. She stated, “Subhadra Ben is a royal lady who’s the owner of this huge haveli and he or she is regal, but still, has numerous humanity in her. She supports and helps out a bunch of people who find themselves in trouble. She has numerous love, lot of resilience, but there’s also betrayal. And thru Subhadra Ben I got to explore different layers of emotion. And I also feel honoured that I give an important message on this film.”

L2 Empuraan is the second a part of a planned trilogy starring Mohanlal because the enigmatic Stephen Nedumpally, also generally known as Khureshi Ab’raam.
