Conor McGregor has announced he’ll run to grow to be Ireland’s President.

McGregor, who was found to have raped a girl following a civil case in November, announced the plans on Instagram, and included a photograph of himself wearing a ‘Make Ireland Great Again’ cap.

McGregor wrote: ‘Ireland must fully implement the EU Migration Pact by June 12, 2026.

‘So between now and 12 June 2026, several pieces of laws need to be passed by each Houses of the Oireachtas & then signed by the President.

‘The subsequent presidential election must happen by 11 Nov 2025. Who else will arise to Government and oppose this bill?

‘Some other Presidential candidate they try to recommend shall be of no resistance to them. I’ll!

‘For clarity also, as President, I’d put forth this bill to referendum.

‘Although I oppose greatly this pact, it’s neither mine nor governments alternative to make. It’s the people of Irelands alternative! All the time! That may be a true democracy!’

He also wrote on X earlier today: ‘Ireland, the alternative is yours and it’s a straightforward one. Vote for me as your President and we’ll SAVE IRELAND TOGETHER!’

The news comes after his White House appearance during which he said Ireland is facing an ‘illegal immigration racket ravaging our country’.

Contained in the Oval Office, McGregor posed with Trump and the pair clasped hands and smiled with each other during photos.

But McGregor’s St Patrick’s Day appearance was criticised by Irish leaders, including Taoiseach Micheál Martin, who said his comments ‘didn’t reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, or the views of the people of Ireland’.

McGregor was found liable of assaulting Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in 2018 – with a jury awarding her £200,000 in damages.

Talking to the Irish Mail on the time following the decision, Ms Hand said she had been inundated with support during her civil trial, and that she never doubted her victory over McGregor.

McGregor hit back: ‘Deplorable what they done. Nikita hand, vicious liar! APPEAL!’
