‘If all the things is normal, we’ll proceed to watch the situation over the subsequent few days. Today, we’ll do the tests and all of the essential assessments.

‘I consider you saw the photographs of him on the bench and after the sport. He is totally normal now, with none complaints. Through the treatment on the pitch he didn’t report any fainting or memory loss, he was conscious and oriented the entire time.

‘We substituted him because he had minor complaints, he thought he was somewhat slower and there was some possibility of a concussion, so in cases of this suspicion, the suggestion is to substitute the player.’

Nonetheless, Liverpool confirmed on Friday afternoon that Alisson has now left Brazil’s camp and can return to Merseyside.

A press release from Liverpool read: ‘The goalkeeper was forced off within the second half of his nation’s World Cup qualifier with Colombia within the early hours of Friday following a collision.

‘Alisson is travelling back to Merseyside and can undergo assessment from the Reds’ medical staff.’
